Zombie Bay is not a post apocalyptic tale. It is set in the present time, in a regular , everyday world, where the this sort of thing simply could not happen. But, it does. Lucky for them there was someone nearby who knew what needed to be done. And, did it.
A dangerous sickness has erupted on a ship in the Gulf of Mexico. As the crew members fall ill, the vessel flounders and sinks. As they succumb to the illness they turn into homicidal monsters who have a ravenous hunger and need no oxygen to live. As they wander from the ship, they make their way across the sandy bottom of the Gulf until they wind up on the shores of a tiny island, but the walking dead have picked the wrong island to begin their search for human prey. This island has something that other islands do not have...It has its own resident expert. Dirk Dobbs.
When Dirk Dobbs, mystery writer, comes home to Deluna Island he is off duty. That is, until he finds that his beloved paradise has been invaded by virally infected men who have become flesh eating zombies! What most people do not know about the successful author is that behind his quiet, scholarly facade lies the warrior instincts of a professional zombie killer! Dirk has a secret life, a life where he hunts down and exterminates zombies, and now he is faced with his worst nightmare: Zombies at his very door.
