Sandra and her husband Lucas have a small country home in Mississippi. In addition to writing, she also enjoys making arts and crafts, homemade gifts, painting, decorating, cooking, visiting local flea markets, and working in her flower gardens. Sandra loves spending time with her family, attending church on Sundays, and camping. Traveling to new destinations and seeing sites she has never seen before or relaxing quietly at home with her husband are also some of her favorite things to do. She usually writes while sitting at her kitchen table or looking out of the window and watching small animals scurry around the yard. Growing up in rural Mississippi, playing outdoors was a big part of her childhood. In spring and summer, there were vines to swing from and creeks to swim in. Fall was also an exciting season. Leaves were raked into piles that could be jumped into for countless hours by children for fun. However, due to extremely warm climate, snow in winter was and still is a rare occurrence in the South. As a child, a good snow—as she calls it—could transform the countryside into a magical place. A big imagination could be used while exploring white wooded areas, hoping to catch a glimpse of a wild animal or perhaps even some mythical creature. Today, Sandra feels those experiences have inspired her writing. She also hopes to never lose the imagination or heart of the child that still exists within her.
