Debra Chapoton grew up in a middle class, Mid-Western, Christian family. She taught high school Spanish and English in an affluent suburb of Detroit while raising four children. Her writing career began after she and her husband built a full log lodge in the middle of a woods in northern Michigan.

Her reading interests flit around through mystery, humor, suspense, thriller, young adult, fantasy, romance, christian lit. and biographies. Her writing focuses primarily on children's adventure, fantasy and mystery, but she has also written the adult psychological thriller EDGE OF ESCAPE.
