Many tell stories of lost love, lost friends, or young mistakes with grace and gentleness. While some of the stories are formulaic and predictable, the fact that they are true helps the reader overlook the pat endings. The message of overcoming challenges will likely ring true to many readers, and help them maintain hope in challenging times of their lives. Also, this book will likely hook reluctant readers, especially girls. The short pieces are easy to read, and will provide a sense of accomplishment. There are short biographies on each of the authors, which are also fun to read.
