Kathy Biggs's excellent little pocket guide has reached the final stage of its life cycle by metamorphosing and emerging into the eWorld as a beautiful new creature. Now it weighs nothing and is always available. The photos by Ray Bruun and others are stunningly beautiful. A great advantage of this eBook version is the inclusion of hyperlinks to distribution maps and extensive additional information that Kathy maintains on her website.

I've used Kathy Biggs' printed Beginners Field Guide for several years, and I am so delighted to have this field guide in a format that I can take with me when I travel! Having an e-guide makes perfect sense, allowing me to carry one device rather than several books. Several things make it amazingly useful:
The photos are gorgeous on the screen. There are links to a companion website.
I look forward to having this with me as I travel, as well as when I visit local parks, etc.
