Internationally renowned Italian director Antonioni is behind this interesting psychological character study. The protagonist is a young Roman girl who returns to her native Turin, gets involved with a group of hipsters and has an affair with a young architect. Though she cares for him, she is an ambitious woman and does not want to live in poverty. Her friend is an artist. Though he is married, he has an affair. When he tells her that he is giving up women in favor of his art, his despondent lover kills herself. Later the Roman woman returns to the city.
