Lord Nigel Olifaunt’s father loaned huge sums of money to King James I of England years before. Nigel now wants the money back, but the royal courtiers will stop at nothing to steal the young lord’s wealth. Court intrigue and swashbuckling action, set in the early seventeenth century, are on the agenda in this 1822 work by the master of romantic adventure.
