Sarah was born in Wiltshire and started writing at the age of eight when she produced an autobiography of her hamster.

At the age of 18 she travelled to London to train as a nurse in one of London's top teaching hospitals, and she describes what happened in those years as extremely happy and definitely censored!

She worked in a number of areas after she qualified, but her favourite was A&E where she found the work stimulating and fun. Nowhere else in the hospital environment did she encounter such good teamwork between doctors and nurses.

By now her interests had moved on from hamsters to men, and she started writing romance fiction.

Her first completed manuscript, written after the birth of her first child, was rejected by Mills&Boon, but the comments were encouraging, so she tried again, and on the third attempt her manuscript Worth the Risk was accepted unchanged. She describes receiving the acceptance letter as one of the best moments of her life, after meeting her husband and having her two children.

Sarah still works part-time in a health-related industry and spends the rest of the time with her family trying to squeeze in writing whenever she can. She is an enthusiastic skier and walker and loves outdoor life.

Born in Northland, New Zealand, and now living the Bay of Islands, Robyn Donald sometimes thinks that writing is much like gardening. It's a similar process - creating landscapes for the mind and emotions from the seeds of ideas and dreams and images. Both activities can also lead to moments of extreme delight, moments of total despair, and backache.

The oldest in her family, as a child Robyn thrilled her four sisters and one brother with bloodcurdling adventure tales, usually very like the latest book she'd borrowed from the library. That urge to tell stories, combined with 10 years of enthusiastic but unpublished writing, saw her leave teaching to become a full-time writer after her first three books had been accepted.

With over 55 books published to date, Robyn sees her readers as intelligent women who insist on accurate backgrounds, so she spends time researching as well as writing. She also finds time for two adult children and their partners, a granddaughter, her mother, and a very supportive husband - not to mention the member of the family that keeps her fit, a loud, cheerful, and ruthlessly determined "almost" Labrador dog.

If you'd like to contact her, Robyn can be reached at: P.O. Box 18240, Glen Innes, Auckland, New Zealand.

When Jacqueline is not busy writing she likes to spend her time traveling, reading, and playing cards. She enjoys swimming in the sea when the weather allows. But a knee injury has put an end to her sailing days.

With a more sedentary lifestyle, she does visit a gym three times a week and has made the surprising discovery that she gets some of her best ideas while doing the mind-numbingly boring exercises on the weight machines.

Jacqueline lives with her husband, Jim, and two grown sons in Northumberland, the Border Country of England.

Lee Wilkinson was born in Nottingham, the only child of loving parents. She was educated at an all-girls' school, and after leaving, tried her hand at several jobs, including modeling swimwear.

At 22 she met and married her husband, Denis. They had a traditional white wedding and a honeymoon in Italy, and have been happily married ever since. They have two children, a son and a daughter--both now grown up and married--and four lovely grandchildren.

Lee's writing career began with short stories and serials for magazines and newspapers before going on to novels. She has had more than 20 Mills and Boon romance novels published to date.

Amongst her hobbies are reading, gardening, walking, and cooking. Traveling is her main love, and teaming up with her daughter and American son-in-law, she and her husband spent a year going round the world, taking in India, China, Australia, New Zealand, and the States.

Last year she rented a palazzo in the heart of Venice, followed by a quick hop aboard the Orient Express. Lee is currently saving up for a whirlwind tour of Japan, a romantic and exotic destination she has wanted to visit since childhood.

At present she lives with her husband in a 300-year-old stone cottage in a picturesque Derbyshire village, which gets cut off by snow most winters.
