Douglas Fairbanks, Sr. (1883–1939) was an actor, screenwriter, director, and producer. Dubbed “The King of Hollywood,” Fairbanks, along with his wife, actress Mary Pickford, was a founding member of the United Artists Corporation and The Motion Picture Academy.
