Love and Mr. Lewisham is a 1900 novel by H.G. Wells, amongst his first outside the science fiction genre. Mr. Lewisham leaves the county to live in London. His youthful dreams of fame and glory slowly fade, replaced by the possibility of redemption through love. Mr. Lewisham attends Imperial College, London, known as the Normal School of Science. He becomes a socialist, declaring his politics with a red tie, and gets mixed up in the charlatan Spiritualism of the late Victorian age.
