    “A Day No Pigs Would Die” by Robert Newton Peck was first published in 1972. It is a semi-autobiographical novel. It follows the life of Rob Peck, the central character, who is coming-of-age in rural Vermont. He lives on an impoverished farm there.

    The book happens to be one of the first books to have been categorized as young adult novel. It is the author’s first published novel. In 1994, the author published its sequel “A Part of the Sky.”
