"A Dandy Chick Lit Work: - Empowering Women, Dispensing Adventure."
"A Glorious Read."
Beaten down by an emotionally abusive husband, fifty-year old Amy Warren searches for her self-esteem by backpacking across the Grand Canyon. Abandoned by her hiking partners, she is befriended at the Phoenix airport by an experienced backpacker, Sarah Rochon, who wrestles Amy’s gear away from a tattooed punk.
The women agree to share their canyon adventure, but the awesome scenery is marred by a mangled body found in a ravine. After the gruesome discovery, the women must face the physical hardships of the five-day trek, plus stay alive as an eerie danger stalks them.
Ranger Glen Hawk is charmed by the perky Amy as she attempts to assist in his investigations, but she rebuffs his attentions––and refuses his protection. She ends up clinging by her fingernails at the edge of the abyss.
