• Aunt Lydia's Classic Crochet size 10 crochet cotton (350 yds per ball):

3 yds #332 hot pink

• Sizes E/4/3.5mm and F/5/3.75mm crochet hooks or size needed to obtain gauge

• Size 5/1.90mm steel crochet hook

• Tapestry needle

• Sewing needle

• ½-inch pink buttons: 3

• 8½ yds 6-inch-wide pink tulle

• Pink sewing thread

Gauge

Size F hook and pretty pink: 22 sc and 28 sc rows = 4 inches

Rows 3 & 4: Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, turn. (10 sc)

Row 5: Rep row 2.

Rows 6–14: Rep row 3. At end of last row, fasten off. (28 sc)

Lower Back

Row 1 (RS): With RS facing, join(see Pattern Notes) in first ch of foundation ch, ch 1, sc in same ch as beg ch-1, sc in each of next 5 chs, turn. (6 sc)

Shape Left Shoulder & Neck

Rows 9–12: Rep rows 1–4 of Upper Back.

Rows 13–17: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Row 18: Ch 1, sc in first sc, ch 3 (buttonhole made), sk next 2 sc, sc in next sc. Fasten off.

Shape Right Shoulder & Neck

Rows 9–12: Rep rows 1–4 of Upper Back.

Rows 13–17: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Row 18: Ch 1, sc in first sc, ch 3 (buttonhole made), sk next 2 sc, sc in next sc. Do not fasten off.

Edging

Now working in rnds, ch 1, sc evenly sp around armholes and edges of Upper Back and Upper Front, join in beg sc. Fasten off.

Leg Opening Edging

With RS facing, join pretty pink in 1 end of foundation ch of crotch section, ch 1, sc evenly sp around Leg Opening, join in beg sc. Fasten off.

Rep on 2nd Leg Opening.

Finishing

Referring to photo for placement, sew 3 Flowers across front neckline. Sew 1 button on each Upper Back shoulder.

Crown

Rnd 1: With size E hook and pretty pink, ch 70, join(see Pattern Notes) in first ch to form a ring, ch 1, sc in each ch around, join in beg sc. (70 sc)

Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc, join in beg sc.

Rnd 3: Beg shell(see Special Stitches) in first sc, sk next 4 sc, *shell(see Special Stitches) in next sc, sk next 4 sc, rep from * around, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3. (14 shells)

Rnd 4: Sl st in next dc and in next ch-2 sp, (beg 4-tr cl — see Special Stitches,picot — see Special Stitches,4-tr cl — see Special Stitches) in same ch-2 sp, ch 5, (sl st, picot, sl st) in next ch-2 sp, ch 5, *(4-tr cl, picot, 4-tr cl) in next ch-2 sp, ch 5, (sl st, picot, sl st) in next ch-2 sp, ch 5, rep from * around, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3. Fasten off.

Shoe

Make 2.

Rnd 1: Starting at sole with size E hook and pretty pink, ch 11, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each of next 2 chs, hdc in each of next 4 chs, dc in each of next 2 chs, 10 dc in last ch, working in unused chs on opposite side of foundation ch, dc in each of next 2 chs, hdc in each of next 4 chs, sc in each of next 3 chs, join(see Pattern Notes) in beg sc. (28 sts)

Rnd 2: Ch 2(see Pattern Notes), hdc in first sc, hdc in each of next 12 sts, 2 hdc in each of next 2 sts, hdc in each of next 12 sts, 2 hdc in last st, join in 2nd ch of beg ch-2. (32 sts)

Rnd 3: Ch 1, working in back lps(see Stitch Guide), sc in each st around, join in beg sc.

Rnd 4: Ch 2, working through both lps, hdc in each sc around, join in 2nd ch of beg ch-2.

Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc in each of first 10 sts, [dc dec(see Stitch Guide) in next 2 sts] 6 times, sc in each of last 10 sts, join in beg sc. (26 sts)

Rnd 6: Ch 1, sc dec(see Stitch Guide) in first 2 sts, sc in each of next 8 sc, sc dec in next 2 sts, sc in each of next 2 sts, sc dec in next 2 sts, sc in each of next 8 sc, sc dec in next 2 sts, join in beg sc. Fasten off. (22 sts)

Tie

Make 2.

With size E hook and pretty pink, make a ch approximately 26 inches long. Fasten off.

Finishing

Fold 1 Tie in half forming a lp at folded end. Draw lp through back center of Shoe, thread ends of strands through lp and pull to tighten and secure. Trim ends. Rep on rem Shoe.

Referring to photo for placement, sew 1 Flower to each Shoe.

Tutu

Cut 30 tulle strips, each 10 inches long.

Row 1 (RS): With size F hook and pretty pink, ch 1, *fold 1 tulle strip in half to make a lp, sc in tulle lp by inserting hook through tulle lp and draw up a lp (2 lps on hook), yo and pull through 2 lps on hook, ch 1, rep from * 29 times, turn. (30 sc, 31 ch-1 sps)

Row 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc across, turn. (60 sc)

Rows 3 & 4: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, working across short edge, ch 1, sc in side of row 4, ch 3 (buttonhole made), sc in side of row 1. Fasten off.

Finishing

Trim ends of tulle strips so they measure about 4 inches.

Sew a button to end of Skirt band opposite buttonhole.

Referring to photo for placement, sew 5 Flowers across front of Skirt band.

Assembly

Sew shoulder seams.

Back Bands & Edging

With RS facing and size F hook, join aqua in row 1 of Left Back, ch 3, dc evenly sp across neckline, sc evenly sp around neckline, and dc evenly sp across Right Back down. Fasten off.

Armhole Edging

With size F hook, join aqua in underarm, ch 1, sc evenly sp around Armhole, join in beg sc. Fasten off.

Rep on 2nd Armhole.

Finishing

Sew 3 buttons evenly sp to edge of Right Back. Use st openings on edge of Left Back for buttonholes.

Trim ends of tulle strips so they measure about 10½ inches.

Overskirt

Row 1 (RS): With size F hook and aqua, ch 74, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each of next 68 chs, ch 2 (buttonhole made), sk next 2 chs, sc in each of next 2 chs, turn. (71 sc, 1 ch-2 sp)

Row 2: Ch 1, sl st in each of next 2 sc and next ch-2 sp (button flap made), ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn. (69 sc)
