About the Author
British-born writer William MacLeod Raine (1871 - 1954) wrote fictional adventures about the American Old West.
He was born in London. After the death of his mother, his family migrated from England to Arkansas when Raine was 10 They settled on a cattle ranch near the Texas-Arkansas border. Raine left Arkansas and headed west where he became a school principal. He wrote for the local newspaper and later moved to Denver, where he worked as a reporter and editorial writer for the Rocky Mountain News and others.
