When New York City event planner, Rayne Walker, finds out her adoptive father is seriously ill, she heads home to American Beach, Florida to support him. Before she leaves, her mother warns her that her biological father, Benjamin Jefferson, is also in American Beach. Rayne avoids him at all costs, having no affection for a man who was married and still seduced her mother. As fate would have it, however, she cannot avoid his son, Wade, a total stranger to her, and finds herself falling for him before she learns his real identity.

As for land developer, Wade Jefferson, it's love at first sight when he meets Rayne on the beach one evening as the sun is setting. What will happen to them when they learn that they are already connected in a way that is undeniable? Family secrets are exposed. Old enemies meet on the battlefield. Will any good come out of this?

First published in 2006, That Summer at American Beach received critical as well as reader praise. It earned 4 and 1/2 stars from Romantic Times Book Review magazine.
