The Bridal Eve, originally published in 1864 by Emma Dorothy Eliza Nevitte Southworth (1819–1899) was published also under the title of ‘Mysteries of the Castle’.
Surprising news is received on the eve of her planned marriage, and so Lady Etheridge, the Heiress of Swinburne Castle, and a local villager necessarily exchange their roles.
Transcribed and edited from the 1864 Pennsylvania edition by Jeffrey Merrow.
