"John Michael Greer (1962-) is an author, occultist and religious leader who resides in Ashland, Oregon. His involvement in occultism began in his teen years when he began studying the Golden Dawn tradition of ceremonial magic. He was initiated into the Druid faith in the early 1990s and currently serves as Grand Archdruid of AODA, the Ancient Order of Druids in America. In 1993 he received a bachelor's degree from the University of Washington, magna cum laude, in Comparative History of Ideas.

His first book, Paths of Wisdom, a study of the Golden Dawn system of Qabalah, was published in 1996, and has been followed by many other books on occult topics.
