I grew up in London, and then went to Oxford University to study English. A rather shaky career in TV followed. It was lots of fun - the people were either brilliant - or brilliantly awful. Either way, it made for an interesting life! However, I wasn't very good at producing or presenting, and secretly wanted to write instead. So that's what I'm now trying to do. 'The Flood' is intended as a companion piece to a series of full-length mysteries featuring Tess and Miller. The first of these novels, 'Death at Daytime' is now available as an e-book. Writing about Tess and Miller, I've got very fond of them - despite (or because of) their bad behaviour, amicable sparring and love of corn snacks. I'm already a good way through a second novel, and hope to publish another free short in weeks to come - so keep an eye out!

Tess Darling is a ballsy blonde TV producer. She's also an inadvertent sleuth: Aided by her hunky but hapless cameraman Miller, Tess digs up the truth whenever a shoot turns deadly...
Short story, The Flood, sees Tess and Miller despatched through a vicious storm - to film the launch of a remote, celebrity spa hotel. When noxious owner Noah Dellow is found strangled in his study, they discover he was not so much a 'friend' to the stars as a blackmailer - the assembled guests are his latest victims. so which one of them is a killer? Duke's daughter Jessica Smythe - or her 'bad-boy' boyfriend Jacquil? Faded actor clive, or his tantrum-throwing, tantric wife? Surely it couldn't be Vanessa Farrow, the icy british theatre star? Or her hot-headed Hollywood husband, Vic?
With night falling - and flood waters rising - Tess and Miller are trapped: Can they find the killer - or will they wake up dead? Fast-paced fun, The Flood is a snappy introduction to messy - but marvellous - heroine Tess and her strapping sidekick Miller.
The Flood is a companion piece to a series of full-length novels starring Tess and Miller. The first book, Death on Daytime, is now available as an e-book. More shorts to follow!
