"Lightning pace and full-color design will hook kids in a flash." -- PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Children's Literature - Phyllis Kennemer
When the king of the pirate cats, Catardone III of Catatonia, discovers his island is having electrical energy problems, he comes up with a simple solution. He decides to lead his pirate band on a raid to Mouse Island to steal their Statue of Liberty (Mousey Liberty) which he mistakenly believes is made of gold. Fortunately for Geronimo, Catardone's twin kittens are opposed to the plan and send him a message via a carrier pigeon. Geronimo figures out the perfect plan to foil the dastardly Catardone. When the pirates arrive, Geronimo is standing at the top of the statue. He releases an army of fleas onto the ropes the cats had cast. The cats quickly cut the ropes and flee from the fleas. The hectic action is shown in both the colorful pictures and in the text which features words written in a variety of colors, sizes of fonts, and unusual shapes. This addition to the popular series from Italy will be welcomed by Geronimo's many fans in this country. Part of the "Geronimo Stilton" series. Reviewer: Phyllis Kennemer, Ph.D.
