Join Geronimo for his biggest, most fabumouse adventure yet! Dragons, mermaids, and much, much more await readers in this very special edition!

I knew from the start that it was no ordinary day, but I certainly didn't expect to find a golden staircase in my attic. Up at the top, there was a door. And beyond the door was a world I never could have imagined -- the Kingdom of Fantasy!

Along with my guide, a frog named Scribblehopper, I set off on an incredible adventure to save the Queen of the Fairies. But along the way, I had to face giant scorpions, witches, sea serpents, pixies, and dozens of other creatures that I had only ever heard stories about. Holey cheese, what a journey! Could I save the Queen . . . and my own tail?

Geronimo Stilton is off on a new kind of adventure in this expanded tale. At the beginning we find Geronimo in the usual place, having a very bad day at The Rodent's Gazette, "the most famouse newspaper on Mouse Island." Instead of the usual mystery to be solved with great investigative reporting, Geronimo finds himself confronting a more fantastical adventure. Entering a door that mysteriously appears in his attic, Geronimo encounters Scribblehopper, a literary frog and Geronimo's guide through the fantasy kingdoms on the journey to come. Presented with the task of rescuing the kidnapped Fairy Queen, Geronimo sets off through six kingdoms, each filled with creepy and scary obstacles to overcome. This title in the series is very different from the previous mysteries. Bound in hardcover, the supersized book includes many truly fantastical illustrations as well as a series of puzzles and mini mysteries to solve that add to reader appeal, particularly for reluctant readers. However, the increased level of danger and some truly scary creatures may limit its appeal for younger Geronimo fans. Reviewer: Sharon Oliver
