    THE MAX THATCHER SERIES

My books have been favorably compared with those of Ian Fleming and Dan Brown, though in the case of the latter I'm far shorter on the descriptive prose element. They are written to entertain and hopefully to inform. I pick background themes that relate to real world issues that we all face.

They are exciting, fast moving compact thrillers and readers tell me that my books are hard to put down. 'Max Thatcher', a former officer in the Special Boat Service is the lead character in the series.

The latest book "The Platinum Solution" considers the very real scenario in South Africa where less than scrupulous people choose to exploit a potential power vacuum caused by the death of Mandela.

My first book "Gatekeeper" was about a psychotic businessman hacking into global computer systems with catastrophic consequences. A very real and relatively easy thing to do as the security services around the world will doubtless continue to vehemently deny.

The De Heerden brothers have some big plans for South Africa which they intend to see through to fruition, whatever the cost. South Africa's fledgling democracy is not working in their opinion and they have a platinum edged solution. Max Thatcher is drawn in to preventing the conspiracy spiralling South Africa's constitution back to the dark days of Apartheid.
In this, a fast moving story, there can ultimately only be one winner. With none of the protagonists prepared to take a backward step the cost to secure victory is measured in terms of life and death.
