Boris Karloff played the character in 5 movies. Keye Luke (famous for playing Charlie Chan's #1 son) played the character in the 6th movie.

    Hugh Wiley wrote short stories for The Saturday Evening Post, Collier's, Argosy, Blue Book and many others. As well as a few novels.
