Grizzly cub Toklo dreams of one day being a great big bear who will rule the forest. He will mark his wide territory and hunt the biggest game, and his brother, Tobi, will forever be at his side. Other grizzlies may stalk the forest alone, but Toklo and Tobi will always have each other.
Yet for now, they're too little to defend themselves, and when a terrifying grizzly demands they leave his territory—or else—they have no choice but to abandon the only home they've ever known. Will Toklo be able to help his family find a new home—or will he just get them into even greater trouble?

Children's Literature - Lauri Berkenkamp
Toklo is a bear cub who looks forward to ruling his own part of the great forest in partnership with his smaller brother Tobi. Toklo knows that most bears mark and guard their territory alone, but he and Tobi vow to always stay together. However, one day a massive male bear finds and destroys their den and Toklo, Tobi, and their mother must flee to a safer area. Toklo's mother is injured while they travel, and Toklo and Tobi run into the very bear they are fleeing. Toklo's mother confronts the male bear with the not-so-surprising news that the cubs are his. The cubs flee while the mother defends them against the big bear and eventually all make it to safety. This graphic adaptation of the "Seekers" series either loses quite a bit in the translation to graphic format or the adaptation simply lays bare (no pun intended) just how weak this plot is. There is no real story line: bear cubs and mother are threatened by a big bear, so they leave for new territory. Mom hurts her leg rescuing one of the cubs from a river. Mom fights another bear. All is well in the end. Younger and emerging readers might find this a useful way to become acquainted with the original novel, but as a stand-alone work it is boring and plotless.
