Melissa Joulwan is the author of Well Fed: Paleo Recipes For People Who Love To Eat, as well as Living Paleo for Dummies (Wiley) and the popular paleo recipe and lifestyle blog The Clothes Make The Girl (http://www.theclothesmakethegirl.com), winner of the 2012 "Best Healthy Cooking Blog" from TheKitchn.com. She is also the author of the memoir Rollergirl: Totally True Tales From The Track (Touchstone).
Melissa is a member of the Community Ambassador program for Experience Life magazine and is frequent guest blogger for ExperienceLife.com. An experienced public speaker, she has presented at the PaleoFX conference, regularly teaches cooking classes at Whole Foods Culinary Center, and is a speaker at gyms/health facilities on adopting the paleo lifestyle.
Melissa has been a follower and a strong advocate for the Paleo diet since 2009. After a thyroidectomy that year, she became particularly interested in how diet affects hormones, body composition, mood, motivation, and athletic performance. These days, her workouts are just as likely to include yoga and meditation, as lifting heavy things, sprinting, and trying to stay ahead of the CrossFit stopwatch. She lives in Austin, Texas, with her husband Dave and their cat Smudge.
