L. Frank Baum was born in Chittenago, a small town near Syracuse, New York, in 1856. He wrote many books for children, but by far the most famous of these is The Wizard of Oz.
Michael Hague's illustrations for such books as The Wind in the Willows, The Velveteen Rabbit, and A Child's Book of Virtues have earned him a dedicated following. Michael Hague lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
