Words without Borders (www.wordswithoutborders.org) is a ten-year-old nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion of cultural understanding through the translation, publication, and promotion of the finest contemporary international literature. Every month at wordswithoutborders.org we publish ten to twelve new works by international writers. Our archive of over 1,600 pieces from 114 countries includes work by Adonis, Can Xue, Ko Un, J. M. G. Le Clézio, Stanisław Lem, Saadat Hasan Manto, Herta Müller, Boualem Sansal, and Tomas Tranströmer, as well as hundreds of emerging talents. In addition we have partnered with publishing houses to release five print anthologies, the most recent of which is Tablet & Pen: Literary Landscapes of the Modern Middle East. Words without Borders is currently developing an education program that will provide tools and resources to help high school and college educators incorporate contemporary international literature into their classes.
