The sixth title in the "My Weird School Daze" series, this story follows the same format as the other books. A.J. narrates his experiences at Ella Mentry School. This time, the plot concerns Mrs. Jafee's substitution for Principal Klutz while he is away for four days at Principal Camp. Mrs. Jafee applies some very strange methods for instruction and learning. She hires Swami Havabanana as the gym teacher to teach yoga. When the children all fall asleep, Mrs. Jafee promptly fires him. A swimming pool is set up on the playground, and Mrs. Jafee takes A.J.'s class underwater for a spelling test. This too turns out to be a less that successful endeavor. In desperation, the kids carry out a plan to kidnap Mrs. Jafee and hold her until their principal's return. Fortunately, Mr. Klutz parachutes into the pool, from which he is rescued. Everyone is very happy to have him back in charge. Readers are certain to enjoy the silly humor as well as the simple black-and-white illustrations that add to the fun.
