Ethelred Luke Taunton (1857–1907) was born in Staffordshire, England. He was a Roman Catholic priest and an authority on church music and liturgy. He was the author of a number of books, including English Black Monks of St. Benedict, History of Church Music, Lead Kindly Light, and History of the Jesuits in England.
